Herbed Buttermilk Ranch Dressing

Move over commercially prepared ranch dressings, there’s a new, easy to make dressing in town & it’s comin’ for your salad! Everyone I’ve served this to says it’s the best ranch dressing they’ve ever had & ask me what brand it is. They’re surprised when I tell them I made it from scratch & beg for the recipe.

Ingredients

1/2 cup Smart Balance or Hellman’s Real mayonnaise
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
1/8 cup packed fresh basil leaves, chopped
1/8 cup packed fresh Italian parsley leaves, chopped
1 Tblsp chopped fresh chives
1 Tblsp chopped fresh oregano leaves
1 tsp apple cider vinegar
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/8 tsp sea salt
Fresh ground black pepper, 6 to 9 pepper mill turns
May need: about 2 Tblsp organic milk or water for thinning

Directions

1. In a 1 quart bowl; add all the ingredients, except milk or water for thinning.

2. Whisk till well combined. Cover & refrigerate at least 6 hours, best flavor after 24 hours.

3. Likely it will be too thick, so whisk in some milk or water to thin out to your liking & serve.

4. Cover & refrigerate any leftovers. Best if used up within 3 days.
